The Maharaja Express

Maharajas' Express Train is a World's Leading Luxury Train introduced by Indian Railways catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Popularly known as the Indian version of the ‘Orient Express of Europe’ the World’s Leading luxury train - Maharajas' Express made a debut in the year 2010. The luxury train has ever since won several & consecutive prestigious annual world travel awards.

Overview

Maharajas' Express Heritage of India itinerary offer insights into the rich heritage and culture of India. Starting from Mumbai, the train crisscrosses through the medieval caves of Ajanta, forts and Palaces of Rajasthan and the majestic Taj Mahal during the Heritage of India Tour.
The highlight of the tour includes cultural immersion during local sightseeing tours, insider experiences such as sundowner cocktails amidst sand dunes and Elephant painting & joyrides and some shopping experiences among others.

  • Day 1 (Sunday) –MUMBAI
    •  09:00 Welcome and Registration at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel
    •  10:45 Proceed for Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaja Terminus Railway Station, Mumbai
    •  11:30 Maharajas’ Express proceeds to Udaipur
    •  12:30 Lunch onboard
    •  19:30 Dinner onboard

  • Day 2 (Monday) –UDAIPUR
    •  08:00 Breakfast onboard.
    •  10:10 Arrive into Udaipur. Proceed for Boat ride on Lake Pichola followed by visit to City Palace and Crystal Gallery.
    •  13:30 Lunch at Satkar Hall of Fatehprakash Palace.
    •  15:00 Return to comforts of Maharajas’ Express or may avail optional activities-Spa at a hotel or Local City Tour.
    •  20:00 Dinner onboard.
    •  22:00 Maharajas’ Express proceeds to Jodhpur.

  • Day 3 (Tuesday) –JODHPUR
    •  07:30 Breakfast onboard
    •  09:15 Optional Tour to Bishnoi Village (De-board at Rohat Railway Station)
    •  13:00 Lunch onboard
    •  14:30 Proceed to visit the Mehrangarh Fort followed by a Walking Tour of the Old Clock Tower market and enjoy a joy ride on Tuk Tuks
    •  17:30 Proceed for an exclusive cocktail dinner at an exclusive venue
    •  20:15 Return to the comforts of Maharajas' Express
    •  03:00 Maharajas’ Express proceeds to Bikaner

  • Day 4 (Wednesday) –BIKANER
    •  08:00 Enjoy countryside while having breakfast onboard
    •  10:00 Arrive into Bikaner. Relax onboard or you may choose an optional Local City Tour
    •  13:00 Lunch onboard
    •  14:00 Visit to Junagarh Fort followed by sundowners at Sand Dunes
    •  17:30 Arrive at the Sand Dunes followed by cocktails, bar-be-que and folk dances
    •  20:30 Return to the comforts of the Maharajas' Express
    •  21:30 Maharajas’ Express proceeds to Jaipur

  • Day 5 (Thursday) –JAIPUR

    •  09:30 Arrive into Jaipur. Proceed for a visit to Amber Fort
    •  12:30 After sight seeing proceed to Rambagh Palace hotel for lunch
    •  16:00 Return to the comforts of Maharajas’ Express

    •  10:15 Maharajas' Express proceeds for Fatehpur Sikri

  • - Payment can be made in INR. The amount will depend upon the prevailing USD exchange rate as per RBI.
  • - Add 5% Govt. service tax extra.
  • - For calculating single occupancy per cabin, simply add the cost of adult with single supplement.
  • - The cost for Indian Splendor & Indian Panorama journeys are the same.

  • - City sightseeing tours for guest in Deluxe cabins is by air conditioned buses with English speaking guide (except in Ranthambhore game drive via Canter)
  • - For Guests in Presidential Suite - Private A/C Cars with English Speaking Guide are arranged for City Sightseeing Tours (except by Jeeps in Ranthambhore).

Exclusions (Extra costs not included in train tour tariff):

  • - Govt. taxes & insurance.
  • - Optional use of spa facility or laundry services.
  • - Gratuities – Tips or porter fee.
  • - Video & professional still camera fees.
  • - Any activity mentioned as optional in the tour journey.
  • - Air tickets.
  • - Transfer to & from the railway station on start & end of itinerary.

Booking Procedure:

  • - Advise preferred date of Journey & Cabins required-to check availability.
  • - To Process Booking: we require Names, Sex, Nationality of all the passengers & Date of Birth of Children < 12 yrs. (if any travelling with you).
  • - Booking will be confirmed on receipt of Advance Deposit of 30% Amount of published ticket value (inclusive taxes).
  • - Video & professional still camera fees.
  • - Balance Amount must reach us at least 70 days before tour depart.
  • - If booking request made less than 70 days before tour depart-we require One time Full(100%) tour amount to confirm booking.
  • - To Issue e-travel Documents, we require Passport copies of all the passengers & Reservation Form.
  • - Payment can be made either by Online Credit Card Authorization OR Bank Wire swift Transfer.

Cancelation Policy:

  • - Royal World Travel, india is authorized Booking Agent of IRCTC (Principal Train Operator) & it’s liability is limited to that of Booking Agent Only.
  • - All request for cancellation must be made in writing & acknowledged by us.
  • - Minimum 30% of Ticket value will be charged as cancellation fee if request received more than 62 days prior to train tour departure.
  • - Minimum 55% of Ticket value will be charged as cancellation fee if request received between 61 to 47 days prior to train tour departure.
  • - Full 100% of Ticket value will be charged as cancellation fee if request received less than 47 days prior to train tour departure.
  • - Overseas Refunds for cancellation of train tour booking, are governed by Reserve Bank Of India rules & require certain paperwork from your end.
  • - Where passenger makes request for refund due to self-cancellation, it will be governed as per foreign exchange rules of RBI Bank and the process may take 4 to 6 weeks after documentation as per RBI guidelines is received & Royal World Travel, india reserves the right to deduct Minimum US$ 200 as service charges at time of refund.
  • - IRCTC(Principal Tour Operator of Maharajas Express) reserves the right to cancel a scheduled train depart, due to in-sufficient bookings & Royal World Travel, india cannot be held liable to bear incidental costs of Indian Visa, Flight & Hotel Cancellation fee etc in such a case.
  • - Request for train tour cancellation due to increase of taxes/tariff by IRCTC authorities will be governed by cancellation rules.
  • - No refund will be made in case of no-show Or self-curtailment of journey.
  • - At times, due to local logistics if Train tour Manager is forced to cancel certain scheduled sightseeing tours or activities, at short notice - No refund will be made to passenger to compensate for this.

Note:

  • - Disputes, if any, are subject to jurisdiction of Courts of New Delhi(India) only. Till date, there has been no legal disputes with our organisation regarding Maharajas’ Express.
