The Maharaja Express

Maharajas' Express Train is a World's Leading Luxury Train introduced by Indian Railways catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Popularly known as the Indian version of the ‘Orient Express of Europe’ the World’s Leading luxury train - Maharajas' Express made a debut in the year 2010. The luxury train has ever since won several & consecutive prestigious annual world travel awards.

Overview

Beginning and concluding in Delhi, the Indian Panorama tour chugs along to Agra for a sojourn of Taj Mahal and move on to the sacred city of Varanasi and its holy bathing Ghats on the banks of legendary Ganges. Group of Monuments at Khajuraho, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is another attraction offering a glimpse into an era of cultural and architectural brilliance of Chandelas. A never before experience of the India is on the cards in the sheer opulence of Maharajas Express tastefully appointed interiors aided impeccably by gracious hospitality.

1Day : (Sunday) - Delhi - Jaipur
  • 07:30 Welcome and Check in at Delhi Safdurjung Railway Station
  • 08:00 Breakfast onboard
  • 08:30 Maharajas’ Express proceeds to Jaipur
  • 12:45 Lunch onboard
  • 14:00 Tour Briefing onboard.
  • 14:30 Arrive into Jaipur
  • 15:00 Proceed to visit City Palace Galleries followed by dinner at Rambagh Palace Hotel
  • 20:30 Return to the comforts of Maharajas’ Express. Overnight on train at Jaipur.
2 Day : (Monday) - Jaipur
  • 07:30 Breakfast onboard
  • 08:30 Visit the Amber Fort
  • 12:45 Return to the Maharajas' Express for lunch onboard. After lunch you may choose the Optional Activities - Spa at a hotel or a Local City Tour
  • 19:30 Dinner onboard
  • 23:00 Maharajas' Express leaves for Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore)
3Day : (Tuesday) – Ranthambore - Fatehpur
  • 06:00 Proceed for an exciting Game Drive at Ranthambore National Park
  • 09:30 Return to the comforts of Maharajas' Express
  • 09:45 Breakfast onboard
  • 10:15 Maharajas' Express proceeds for Fatehpur Sikri
  • 13:30 Lunch onboard
  • 14:30 Arrive into Fatehpur Sikri
  • 15:30 Visit the deserted Mughal City of Fatehpur Sikri

  • 19:00 Enjoy an Indian Evening onboard.

4Day : (Wednesday) – Agra
  • 06:30 Arrive into Agra and proceed to visit the Taj Mahal
  • 09:30 Champagne Breakfast at Taj Khema
  • 11:00 Return to the comforts of Maharajas’ Express
  • 13:00 Lunch onboard. After lunch you may choose Optional Activities such as Spa at a Hotel or Agra Fort or a Local City Tour or Mohabbat the Taj Show(live Dance Drama)
  • 19:30 Dinner onboard
  • 03:00 Maharajas’ Express proceeds to Orchha.
5Day : (Thursday) – Orchha - Khajuraho
  • 06:30 Breakfast onboard
  • 07:15 Deboard at Jhansi to reach Orchha by Road. Visit Orchha Fort and Village Tour by Tuk Tuks
  • 10:00 Return to the comforts of Maharajas’ Express as it proceeds to Khajuraho
  • 12:00 Lunch onboard
  • 15:30 Arrive into Khajuraho and proceed to visit the Western Group of Temples
  • 18:00 Return to the comforts of Maharajas’ Express You may choose Optional Activities – Spa facility at a hotel or Light and Sound Show or Dances of India Show

  • 23:10 Maharajas’ Express proceeds to Varanasi

  • 14:30 Visit Sarnath ruins followed by visit to silk weaving centre
  • 16:30 Proceed for Boat ride on the Ganges to witness Evening Aarti
  • 19:00 Enjoy an exclusive vegetarian Dinner with Kathak Dance at Brij Rama Palace at Ghats
  • 21:00 Return to the comforts of the Maharajas’ Express
  • 21:15 Maharajas’ Express proceeds to Delhi

  • - The above prices are on per person per journey
  • - All the above prices are in USD.
  • - Payment can be made in INR. The amount will depend upon the prevailing USD exchange rate as per RBI.
  • - Add 5% Govt. service tax extra.
  • - For calculating single occupancy per cabin, simply add the cost of adult with single supplement.
  • - The cost for Indian Splendor & Indian Panorama journeys are the same.

  • - City sightseeing tours for guest in Deluxe cabins is by air conditioned buses with English speaking guide (except in Ranthambhore game drive via Canter)
  • - For Guests in Presidential Suite - Private A/C Cars with English Speaking Guide are arranged for City Sightseeing Tours (except by Jeeps in Ranthambhore).

Exclusions (Extra costs not included in train tour tariff):

  • - Govt. taxes & insurance.
  • - Optional use of spa facility or laundry services.
  • - Gratuities – Tips or porter fee.
  • - Video & professional still camera fees.
  • - Any activity mentioned as optional in the tour journey.
  • - Air tickets.
  • - Transfer to & from the railway station on start & end of itinerary.

Booking Procedure:

  • - Advise preferred date of Journey & Cabins required-to check availability.
  • - To Process Booking: we require Names, Sex, Nationality of all the passengers & Date of Birth of Children < 12 yrs. (if any travelling with you).
  • - Booking will be confirmed on receipt of Advance Deposit of 30% Amount of published ticket value (inclusive taxes).
  • - Video & professional still camera fees.
  • - Balance Amount must reach us at least 70 days before tour depart.
  • - If booking request made less than 70 days before tour depart-we require One time Full(100%) tour amount to confirm booking.
  • - To Issue e-travel Documents, we require Passport copies of all the passengers & Reservation Form.
  • - Payment can be made either by Online Credit Card Authorization OR Bank Wire swift Transfer.

Cancelation Policy:

  • - Royal World Travel, india is authorized Booking Agent of IRCTC (Principal Train Operator) & it’s liability is limited to that of Booking Agent Only.
  • - All request for cancellation must be made in writing & acknowledged by us.
  • - Minimum 30% of Ticket value will be charged as cancellation fee if request received more than 62 days prior to train tour departure.
  • - Minimum 55% of Ticket value will be charged as cancellation fee if request received between 61 to 47 days prior to train tour departure.
  • - Full 100% of Ticket value will be charged as cancellation fee if request received less than 47 days prior to train tour departure.
  • - Overseas Refunds for cancellation of train tour booking, are governed by Reserve Bank Of India rules & require certain paperwork from your end.
  • - Where passenger makes request for refund due to self-cancellation, it will be governed as per foreign exchange rules of RBI Bank and the process may take 4 to 6 weeks after documentation as per RBI guidelines is received & Royal World Travel, india reserves the right to deduct Minimum US$ 200 as service charges at time of refund.
  • - IRCTC(Principal Tour Operator of Maharajas Express) reserves the right to cancel a scheduled train depart, due to in-sufficient bookings & Royal World Travel, india cannot be held liable to bear incidental costs of Indian Visa, Flight & Hotel Cancellation fee etc in such a case.
  • - Request for train tour cancellation due to increase of taxes/tariff by IRCTC authorities will be governed by cancellation rules.
  • - No refund will be made in case of no-show Or self-curtailment of journey.
  • - At times, due to local logistics if Train tour Manager is forced to cancel certain scheduled sightseeing tours or activities, at short notice - No refund will be made to passenger to compensate for this.
